From the estate of Ruth Friedmann Opper  & Jerry Opper. Ruth was the daughter of Bauhaus artist, Gustav Friedmann. Done in the  style of the Bay Area Figurative painters of that time and contemporaries would include, Elmer Bischoff, James Weeks and Richard Diebenkorn. 

This is a gouache painting done on the back of a sign for the SF Examiner, c. 1940-1950's. Mid century figure study. Unframed, measures 21 1/4" x 13 3/4". This piece is unsigned and came from a collection of their work in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

Very Good Condition - Minor wear consistent with age and history. Right top has crease and small tear.
